Deol and Patel reprise iconic roles, excite fans with heart-pounding trailer

The explosive, cross-border romance-drama, Gadar, which won hearts back in 2001, returns with its much-anticipated sequel, Gadar 2. The sequel, directed by renowned filmmaker Anil Sharma, sees Sunny Deol, 64, and Ameesha Patel, 44, reclaim their celebrated characters of Tara Singh and Sakina, stirring unwavering excitement among their fans.

Recently, the creators revealed the trailer for Gadar 2, escalating the hype for the sequel. The fresh plot introduces us to the torment of Tara and Sakina’s son, Jeete, played by Utkarsh Sharma, at the hands of a Pakistani army official. Tara, embodied by Sunny Deol, ensures a distressed Sakina of his resolution to retrieve Jeete, setting up the plot for an intense thrill-ride of a movie.

Sunny Deol, known for his machismo and steller action sequences in Indian cinema, attracts the viewer’s attention with his breathtaking scenes involving a sledgehammer as he combats the Pakistani military. The nail-biting trailer concludes with Tara gazing at a hand-pump, alluding to what fans could anticipate in the full feature.

Gadar 2’s trailer was unveiled on a momentous date, Kargil Vijay Divas, at a grand event graced by some of the big names of the industry including Anil Sharma, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Shariq Patel, Simrat Kaur, Mithoon, Alka Yagnik, Jubin Nautiyal, and Aditya Narayan.

Deol, known for his robust screen presence and ability to captivate audiences, expressed his gratitude to fans for their support and promised that Gadar 2 delivers “double the action, emotions, and entertainment.”

Sharing his thoughts on the sequel, Anil Sharma enthusiastically stated, “We are excited about bringing back a story that epitomizes patriotism, intense action, a heartwarming father-son bond, and a love story that transcends all boundaries.”

The film is a joint venture by Anil Sharma and Zee Studios, set to hit the silver screen on August 11.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Anil Sharma, captivated audiences with its tale surrounded the Partition of India. The love story between Sikh truck driver Tara Singh and Muslim girl Sakina, from a politically affiliated family in Lahore, Pakistan, won hearts across and created box office history. The drama was further intensified by the late Amrish Puri’s phenomenal performance in a pivotal role.

Fans were delighted with the news of Gadar’s welcomed re-release last month, which came following the announcement of the sequel. Talking about the significance of the film and his character in his life, Sunny Deol said, “Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”.
