Har Ghar Tiranga rally initiates in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day

'Har Ghar Tiranga' rally starts in Kashmir marking India's 76th Independence Day

In the dawn of India’s impending Independence Day, Manoj Sinha, who sits presently serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, kick-started the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally this Sunday. The rally embarked from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and aimed towards the Botanical Garden situated at the green periphery of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir. Throughout the rally, Sinha, carrying the Indian flag, led the participants who avowed their patriotism chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ gathering, directly translating to “Every home has the Flag”, is a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The initiative strives to persuade citizens to hoist the national flag at home, marking the significant milestone of India’s 76th year of independence.

Adding to the momentum, the Jammu and Kashmir police in collaboration with the local populace and student bodies executed a Tiranga rally in Rajouri. This event was spearheaded by the Commandant of the India Reserve Police’s Second Battalion on Saturday. This endeavour witnessed diverse activities unfurling across 26 Panchayats in the heart of Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) in Ganderbal played orchestration to an array of engaging events. The theme resonating was ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’, coupled with an energetic ‘Prabhat Pheri’ (morning procession) in Zone Kangan.

Across the distance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the citizens of India via a message transmitted on Friday, encouraging participation in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rallies from the 13th to 15th of August. He enunciated the association of the Indian flag with the national spirit of freedom, urging citizens to share their photos with the Tricolour on the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ official site.

Hailing the symbolic Tricolour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The Tiranga encapsulates the spirit of freedom and national unity. Every Indian has an emotional bond with the Tricolour, which fuels the drive towards further national progress.” This statement was uploaded on X, formerly known as Twitter.
