It is worth noting that the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ undertaking forms an integral part of the innovative Independence Day festivities planned by J&K police. Substantial effort has been invested into disseminating information about the unsung heroes of the nation, as was confirmed by East Srinagar DSP Shivam Siddharth.
As part of these Independence Day celebrations, the campaign oversaw a host of unique activities organised across 26 Panchayats in the Ganderbal District of Central Kashmir. Today saw the District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) executing a plethora of entertaining events intricately threaded around the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ motif. To complement the day’s events, an exuberant ‘Prabhat Pheri’ (morning procession) was kick-started in the Kangan Zone.
Moving on to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this campaign encourages every inhabitant of the nation to be an active participant in the 76th year of India’s independence. This includes taking the Tiranga flag home and raising it high, thus marking this significant year. As documented on an official government website, the simple act of bringing the flag home amplifies not only personal affiliation with the Tiranga but furthermore, symbolises a collective dedication to nation-building. The core principle behind this initiative is to breathe fresh patriotism into the heart of every citizen while concurrently heightening the understanding and appreciation of the Indian National Flag.
