Akhilesh Yadav accuses BJP of electoral manipulation and sowing discord

Akhilesh Yadav accuses BJP of electoral manipulation and fostering discord in UP

The Samajwadi Party’s leader, Akhilesh Yadav, has levelled allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of electoral manipulation through unethical politics and of disseminating discord in Uttar Pradesh by leveraging bulldozers.

Yadav voiced his concerns while addressing a gathering of his party workers at the Samajwadi Party’s state headquarters on Saturday. He asserted that Uttar Pradesh is currently experiencing unprecedented levels of injustice, tyranny, inflation, and corruption. He claimed that these factors have adversely affected all sections of society.

Adding to the criticism, Yadav also predicted a looming defeat for the BJP in all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. He alleged that through the misuse of power, the BJP is undermining the fundamentals of the Constitution and democracy. Yadav further accused the BJP of resorting to manipulative politics to influence elections and using beneficiaries of government schemes as their vote bank.

Furthermore, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister argued the BJP sows discord and misunderstanding within communities to create internal friction. He equated this strategy to the colonialist policy of ‘divide and rule’ practiced by the British.

“The Constitution is under threat from the BJP. The freedom of expression is being stifled. The BJP government is fostering a state of anarchy in Uttar Pradesh through the use of bulldozers,” he added.

In a recent post on the social media platform X, the Samajwadi Party leader opined that bulldozers should not turn into a symbol of injustice. Referring to the BJP’s dual control of the central and state governments in Manipur, he further asked rhetorically, “Is there no bulldozer in double-engine Manipur?”
